job portfolio

I realized today that I have not updated with my job portfolio website.

Anyone who wants to see what I have been up to academically and professionally. I designed the HTML, graphics, and content for the entire site.

which buttons do you want?

I highly recommend Coraline, and then read the book--or read the book and then watch the movie. Both are equally enjoyable. I will post my final reaction to the book when I finish it.

Yay for buttons! I'm into creating softies right now (even though mine are not very good, yet) and I've decided that all of my softies will have button eyes. My major project that I want to start working on is a Coraline doll.

my first softie

While staying at Melinda's, she gave me a sewing book called Stitched in Time. It had a little blue horse called "Softie." This intrigued me, and so I started looking online for different ideas for softies. I tried to make the horse, but I am definitely not very skilled YET in hand-sewing.

So, I found this simple owl pattern, and decided to try something simple before I dived into the horse.

This was my first softie. I hope there will be many more. The stitching on the top was not too professional, but hey, it's a first time thing, right?

Any tips?

The Alchemist

One of my new favorite books is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I highly recommend the search for buried treasure turned spiritual journey.

It is actually being made into a movie.

Just kidding. I made this for a book presentation. I am quite proud of it, actually. I got the 30 day trial of Adobe Illustrator. One day I will own the Adobe programs... I hope I don't have to wait too terribly long.

Let me know what you think.

Stress

School, work, finances, boyfriend (who I adore), homework... should I repeat homework? I love to read, but I'm going to need a long break of it after this semester. Count them, three, yes, three literature courses, along with a Senior capstone course and a theater course--I have to read three plays before Wednesday... I know people have it worse, but sometimes that doesn't provide much comfort, does it? Days like this make me dream of the Paraguayan sun and a bit of Guarani music... A "Tranquilo" lifestyle where I can sit on my front porch and drink terrere (herbal tea) all day long...

So, instead of doing the insane amount I have to do I am writing on my blog and counting the minutes--no the seconds--until Jeff and I go to Missoula tomorrow... A three day weekend and I mean to take advantage of every second.
